Help from any 2016 FRS automatic owners

It's nice to be the first sometimes. You know, like first in a race.
Well I found out that I am apparently the first 2016 FRS automatic owner to try and use EcuTec. And it doesn't work!

I just had my supercharger with a flex fuel kit installed at a reputable shop.
When it came time to get everything tuned via EcuTec, they hit a roadblock.
It's a little over my head but from what I understand there is no baseline software for the 2016 automatic and an update to the EcuTek software has to be created for 2016 model year before I can install the tunes and drive the vehicle.

I am currently getting around by a rental car hoping this will get resolved soon (maybe by the time you guys read this post the problem will have been taken of). But if not, what do you recommend? Should I ask the shop to dismantle everything and go back to stock while I wait? I hate the idea of removing the hoses and clamps and everything from the supercharger as they might not reattach properly on reinstall.
Did anyone experience this when the 2015s came out?
Really bummed out.

Thanks MGPAX,

I am not sure if the guys at the shop already tried what you requested but if they are reading this I hope they give it a try.

the 2016 cars have different ecu base roms than 2015 cars, as its so new the ecutek guys have not seen those roms, the shop will have to send a base rom from your car to ecutek so they can produce a definition file to the tuners can edit your rom. not sure how long that takes with ecutek.

manual and auto engine ecu roms are different and not interchangable, the manual roms dont need to talk to the auto trans computer . Ecutek wont let you flash incompatable roms anyway.

Thanks. I can't wait to drive it. This rental car makes me respect the handling of the 86. I feel like I'm about to flip over.

Now that you mentioned it, I believe the shop guys said they sent a base rom from my car to EcuTek. We are basically waiting for them to complete the update. I am just wondering how long something like that will take. A couple days? Or a month? I am sure the shop guys aren't happy with my car taking up space in their shop too.

It's not that long of a process, however, I have no idea how ECUTek operates as a company. Ask your tuner to get in touch with them to get an estimate on how long it will take then decide whether to take it off or not.

There will be no issue disassembling and going back to stock, then putting it back on. It's just a lot of extra labor.
