Tracking with 25mm spacers ok?
I recently ordered some trd lowering springs and some 25mm spacers in rear and 20mm for front oem wheels and was wondering if tracking on the spacers would be ok.
Anybody tracking the car with springs and 25mm spacers in reae? Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk |
I never seen anyone out on a track with spacers. The ones that do show up with then always take then off before they hit the track.
If your confidant on your spacers ball all means go for it. If you have any doubt just take them off. |
You can, but you have to ask yourself this question:
Do you want to deal with 20 possible points of failure (stock studs), or 40 possible points of failure (stock studs + spacer studs)? Most decent sanctioning bodies and track hosts will not allow spacers of any kind. -alex |
toyota gt86 cup cars all run spacers. every single one of them. not 25mm though. thats pretty big.

I've seen real racers run spacers. But not 25. More like 5 or 10.

Link below to GT86 Cup website. It talks about spacers... http://www.toyota-motorsport.com/mot...tmg-gt86-cs-v3

considering the 2013-spec car ran ARP extended studs, a small spacer for the GT86 Cup car for 2014 isn't out of the question.

Tracking with 25mm spacers ok?
I haven't tracked my car yet but I've done quite a few autox events with 20&25mm no problems yet.
Porsche offered 17mm bolt on spacers in 2011 (& 2012 I think) so they can't be all that bad. |

I was wondering about spacers on drift cars the other day to. If you look at Ryan T's white personal fr-s, it looks like he's running some mad spacers, especially up front. Attachment 120287 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
May i say that it looks ugly? Like if some king-kong stomped on car and due pressure car was flattened into road with wheels broken off. Though then again most hell-a-flush cars also look ugly in my eyes, and as usually it was done "for looks", i could never understand - why, as result is .. arguable.

I ran my car at Oregon Raceway Park with 20mm spacers up front and 25mm spacers in the rear with no problems. And since it was my first time out I thrashed on the car pretty hard and took it off track twice. I didn't run into any problems at the track.
I would check to make sure you'll pass inspection with them before you show up though, just in case. Also check the fronts because mine had some clearance issues with the oem lug nuts and I had to do some grinding to get them to fit. |
Ryan does not run spacers, he runs extended arms. It allows him to steer better and maintain vehicle control with full lock to lock motion
