Short shifter clearance issue with driveshaft

I just ordered the DSS aluminum drive shaft for my car but I was wondering if anyone had an issues with it not clearing a kartboy short shifter. I saw a video of one person who had issues but it appeared his install was incorrect. Just trying to get an idea before I take my car apart and damage the shaft.

hmmm......sorry, I fail to understand the "connection" between the shifter and the driveshaft ......... ??

I never saw where he posted it fixed his issue. Interested as well, because the Aluminum driveshaft is larger than the carbon one. He ended up just grinding the shift rod down so it didn't hit anymore.

noticed that no one mentioned this but in the videos i noticed your missing your reverse lock out plate , which is why your lock out in non functional and probably why it was hitting the drive shaft
There are no clearance issues :)

it's fixed, look @ last page of the thread, there was no problem.

Only problem was he took something off to reduce weight haha

I think he forgot to install the reverse lockout which is a tiny plate but apparently enough to cause problems because angles. I think he was joking about the weight loss reason.

The joints are(should be) the same size, just the body on the aluminum is bigger. I have only seen people hitting the joints. and never a real problem just install errors

Alright cool. I appreciate the input guys I just got nervous because I asked 86 speedfactory after I ordered it and they said they weren't sure which got me all crazed.

I never did see that build thread say his lack of a reverse lockout fixed his issue tho. I was really hoping someone would just say yeah I run that setup and it works. I guess I'm a pioneer but most likely not.

he ground it down and fixed it himself before there was a chance to install it correctly and test. so I guess there is no real proof that it would have fixed it.

humfrz, you ignorant old fool ...... allow me to draw you a picture ....... :sigh:

See, the linkage sets BEHIND the tail shaft of the transmission.

NOT on top of or beside it, like the last transmission you tore apart, back in the 50's....:slap:
