FT-86 From 0 To 60?

Hello Guys

Guys, For all of you who have some expert about this engine

Do you actually have any idea how much this new FT will take to reach from 0 to 60?

200HP without DI and Toyota Dual VVTI

So maybe 220 HP with those two addition

And the car weight is around 2600 LBS

Can you assume how much it will take till it reach 60 MPH from full stop?

NESW20 01-29-2011 11:37 AM

i think a more reasonable guess would be 5.5-6 seconds. keep in mind, there's a good chance two shifts will be necessary to hit 60mph.

HOllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

I pressed 4 instead of 5!!!!!!

what i mean is 5.0-5.2 and etc etc etc...

Edit: Can any Modetor or Admin fix my mistake please?

thanks.

your right, Dont forget that this car will be free Revving engine, this might me good advantage to have smaller numbers to 60 MPH

To be honest, I really don't care for 0~60 numbers. Keep it close to original design, light weight, enough hp to keep the car side way then I don't care 0~60 was +6 secs.

well, I care more about 0 to 60 than cornering..

That's my opinion to, a lot of car makers can put a lot of horsepower in cars, the way it uses that power it's important(yeah I'm looking at you, yeah you, the guy that has a FWD VW Scirocco and thinks he drives a sports car), and of course the way the car looks is the other important thing. Look at the Mazda MX-5 Miata, it's not the most powerful or the fastest roadster on the market, but it's a very good balanced package that offers tons of fun when you are behind the wheel.

If that's the case, you're looking at wrong car (no offense). I can guarantee you, this car won't be faster than your current G37S in 0~60. iirc G37S 0~60 was 5.2 secs w 13.7 1/4 miles... yeah, my guess, FT86 be lucky if it gets under 6 secs w 14 secs 1/4 mile.

 yeah really dont care much about 0-60 but i care about is balance, weight, engine respons and brakeing. 0-60 in 6sec thats good enough for me...

matadormi5 01-29-2011 04:28 PM

I only want it to be less than 6 seconds. Reality of production will increase the weight(hopefully not make it obese) with safety features and the other bits and pieces.

As long as the car is fun to drive, I could care less about 0-60 times. Make it under 6-seconds and a complete blast to drive around, I'll be happy.

I live in the Chicago downtown/loop, and the only time one can enjoy their car's speed/power/acceleration is after 11PM, when everyone goes to bed. Huge power is almost useless here.

As long as its fun to drive and everything else the guy above me said.

new vote is 5.6-5.8. i can't vote because i already did, and it won't let me vote again. meh. not really that important, anyway. i haven't clocked it officially, but my MR2 does it in under 5 seconds.

Matador 01-29-2011 09:12 PM

With 2500-2700 lbs and 200-220hp, 60 mph isn't coming any faster than 6 seconds. Maybe High 5's with 1-foot of rollout.
