Did you see that there was also a GT-R that entered? Did you see where they placed? |

I've been with @Slick at the track many times, and his car mods are exactly as posted. He is crazy fast. If he had been running E85 he would have been even faster. It's his home track, so that's worth some time, and as stated earlier, and by many others, he's damn fast. The running joke we have hear is that any passengers that ride with him should bring a barf bag because they aren't used to the high G's they are going to end up feeling. |

You're forgetting two very critical things in your "analysis". 1) Dave has only driven Calabogie a handful of times, and not in a few years. Andre drives it ALL the time. Look at how the lap times compared at TMP (where Dave has billions of laps, and Andre not so much). Andre also knocked off some really quick times on the DDT, he's no slouch of a driver at all. 2) Dave and Pete were on R1R's, Andre/Norm/Kenny were on RE71R's most of the time. There's an easy 2-3 seconds difference between those tires. If you're comparing notes, that's almost as much difference the SA car gained from the transformation of N/A with no aero to S/C with aero. Still don't believe anyone, look at the results from the top speed challenge (1/2 mile, running start). The SA car was much quicker through that. |

The car and engine setup are exactly as stated. There are no smoke and mirrors here. Power upgrades: - drop-in K&N air filter - OpenFlash Header - OpenFlash tablet running Stage 2 - 93 Octane tune (couldn't run E85 for this event) - I'm even running a stock catback exhaust. I'm sure with this setup I am probably putting down somewhere between 190-195 whp, and closer or just over 200 on E85 (which we didn't run for the event). Yes, we had better tires. Our "good" set was the RE71R in a 245/40R17, other was the Hankook RS3 in a 255/35R18. But you forgot the most important mod that I listed, "seat time". This isn't my first rodeo, I have been driving on track for awhile. I am typically 3 secs ahead of other twins at my home track. I have also driven Shannonville, Mosport and Cayuga previously in my Time Attack days. Would be more than happy to take you out for a rip as a passenger sometime. |
I'd be shocked if you're in the 190whp range on an OTS 93 octane tune, which is just a further testament to seat time and skill.
