C-Street Wheel options
Apart from rpf1's what other lightweight options are there out there in our OEM size?
(less than 17lbs...) Tirerack lists a kosei and the rpf1's, I believe I have seen a BBS RK around 16lbs.. |
Budget makes a big difference, but it's hard to argue with the 14.0lb Kosei K4R at $199 a pop. Every CS FR-S in my region seems to be on them, including me. The K4R's don't seem to have any sign of failures like some other Kosei models have had, but if you were also doing a lot of track days and were really concerned with strength, the RPF1's seem to be one of the more robust cast wheels out there. There are some lighter forged wheels in existence, but every option I've looked at seems to be either custom or discontinued, making them very expensive and/or very hard to find.

I picked up a used set of Kosei K1 TSs for $450. You can't beat that value! The K1s are a favorite in Spec E30 and E36 racing too, so they can definitely stand up to track abuse.

I have the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.0 in 17x7 - comes out to 16lbs each. Pretty happy with them so far. They usually go for 200 each or less, but I scored a full NIB set of 4 for 350 bucks!

We put these on last week, they look right and seem to make the car more responsive. DP

I thought I heard they were making the traklites again?

I'm on a set of Buddy Club P1 in 17x7 +42. They're about 16 lbs each. Not too common of a wheel. There's also a set of BBS RG in similar specs in the wheel classifieds right now.

http://qrgarage.ca/wp-content/upload.../CNAC2015C.jpg I would have rather bought the Kosei's, but couldn't find them in stock anywhere. I never had them on a scale, but they feel similar to my 16lb Technocast Corsia. http://qrgarage.ca/wp-content/upload...firstautox.jpg |
