There's basically a 'tipping point' beyond which the v4 Camaro simply won't make much sense versus the v8 model even if it is quicker than the Twins, Miata etc.

Honestly, that tipping point comes real fast. Even a lightly-optioned turbo-4 Camaro is within spitting distance of V8 pricing. Additionally, in terms of fuel economy the LT1 V8 isn't that thirsty to begin with, and the re-sale value will no doubt be MUCH stronger with the V8. And until we see some solid comparative reviews, I'm not so convinced the turbo-4 versions will really be all that much better-handling than the V8 version.
Altogether, it makes the argument for a non-V8 Camaro really weak for me.
Then again, I'm probably one of the few guys in the world that cross-shopped the 5th gen Camaro SS versus the FR-S. FR-S won because of price, dirt-cheap insurance (even with a great driving record) and I HATE the styling of the 5th gen Camaro.
