What are the oil change intervals listed for 2015 cars?

The owners manual for my 2013 FRS lists 7,500 mi or 7.5 mos as the oil change interval but at least one Toyota website lists 6K miles, 6 mo
Given the number of engine failures with the manufacturer refusing to honor the warranty on the grounds of poor maintenance, I want to follow their recommendations.
So do the 2015 manuals still list 7,500 / 7.5mo or what?

My 2015 Brz manual says 6k.

For 2013 it was 7500 miles, it changed to 6,000 miles in 2014. This was on a sign at a Subaru dealership.

Oh, I reckon if you follow your 2013 maintenance manual, you will be OK as far as the warranty.

Personally, with average driving, I don't think it makes a dang bit of difference between changing the oil at 6,000 or 7,500 mile intervals.

With the amount I drive the car the TIME will be the deciding factor-- and it will tick me off to have to change synthetic oil after only 4K miles or so just to keep my warranty in effect.

I have the reverse issue. In one year I have had to change the oil 6 times. No track, no heavy driving just pure miles.

Yep, I hear you. With my oil changes, time elapses before the miles are due.

However, since the manufacture is paying for the oil changes while under warranty, I just let them have at it.

You could always DIY and keep the old oil for your beater car or lawn mower .... :)

I remember, back in the day, on the farm. we would drain the oil out of the car and put it in the farm truck. We would use the oil from the farm truck for transmission oil for the tractor.

The old oil from the tractor, we would spray on the gravel drive, to keep down the dust........ no waste back then ......

They would send out a notice if the oil change interval was retroactively modified, I'm sure you'd see about a dozen posts about it around here if people were getting stuff in the mail informing them of the change.

Toyota dealership I go to for the free maintenance still says 7,500 for 2015s. However, I just do mine at 5k because it's an easier number to remember at, especially my other cars are due at 5k as well.
