'Free XM' after head unit hard resets due to USB read error ?

As the title says... I'm well out of the XM trial period, I had a few of the known 'USB MP3 read' errors that causes the unit to hard reset.

Anyway, I accidentally hit the XM button the other day ...and XM is working.??? But not all of the channels. Basically everything up to the Canadian music . So no comedy/sports. I'm waiting for the selection to go away.... but after two weeks it's still there. Not sure how long the initial XM trial was.

Anyone else see this? I guess a side bonus to having the head unit crap out on a good MP3 ? [ I'd like to see a SW engineer explain this firmware mess away ]

Unfortunately, no. There is currently a Sirius/XM free preview going on.

Feeling like a dumbass ...:laughabove: I guess I expected a commercial saying 'enjoy the freeview' ..but did not hear that once.

The other clue that I had was a actual error message that was displayed at boot. I guess I was hoping for a redeeming quality of the head unit that hard resets randomly when playing MP3's ... I guess in the end it's just a crappy unit :[
