Help wanted: Tein Street Flex for $950 or Flex Z or $820?
 

So I've been reading multiple reviews for these and it seems like there aren't too many things different from these, except for the fact that Flex Z aren't rebuildable according @CSG Mike and the spring rates (6k spring rate on the Flex Z and 7k on the Street Flex). Tein website even says Flex Z are "more premium and better suited for streets" than Street Flex.

I'm using this car as a daily driver so comfort is the first priority, and the only modification so far is the 17x7.5 Enkei RPF1.

Street Flex is literally twice the MSRP (although a lot of retailers carry it for around $1100) of the Flex Z, but I can get it for only $130 more, and I honestly am clueless as to which one I should go for. If the difference is marginal and the Flex Z is better built, why is Street Flex still significantly more expensive?

I'm sure I'd be happy with either, but any input is greatly appreciated.

Flex Z is not rebuildable, but you can just buy new inserts and swap them out. No down time like other rebuildables that need to be sent out. The Flex is heavily discounted due to the Flex A replacing them. I would personally go for the Street Flex, but I would also ask the guys at Counter space garage for their opinion as they probably have experience with both.

The Street Flex is cheaper because it is now an obsoleted product.

Is the rebuildability worth it to you? Keep in mind that rebuilding is typically 175/corner + parts, whereas replacement cartridges for the Flex Z will be 80-125 per corner. However, Street Flex rebuilds can be custom valved.

Tein has stated that the Flex Z as well as the A inserts can be ordered with custom valving.

In addition to the softer springs, the Flex Z uses rubber rear upper mount instead of pillow ball which allegedly reduces noise and makes it more comfortable... After what @Shady195 said, it seems like the Flex Z is a better product than the Street Flex in every way, at least for street use. I'm probably gonna go with @CSG Mike's recommendation

Keep in mind that the Flex Z is more comfort oriented than the Street Flex; the Street Flex is 7k/7k, while the Flex Z is 6k/6k.

You are correct; the Z is more designed for comfort than the Street Flex.

At the clearance price, the Street Flex is a great deal. If you want a Flex Z, act quick; they're almost out of stock, and the next real batch is ETA December.
