P0128 CEL

I was driving down the highway with cruise control on yesterday and then the car kicked out of cruise and threw a CEL. Read the code with my OFT and got P0128 " Coolant temp too low".

Anyone have this before. Both fans were running and cutting on and off just fine, coolant levels are good, engine temps didnt seem to change any either.

I'd guess either your car's thermostat stuck open or it "hiccupped" and tossed you a code.

I'd suggest you erase the code and see if it comes back.

If it does, you may wish to read the coolant temperature with an instrument.

I cleared it. Code didn't come back, but i did notice that the temps would drop down to the line right above cold when ever i started driving but would move back to the middle when sitting at idle.

So pretty sure it's a stuck open thermostat.

Yep, I reckon it's time for a new thermostat...... :sigh:

You may consider that NEW "turbo" thermostat ..... it will add 6 HP and if you put the sticker on ..... an additional 2 HP ........ :D
