FYI clearbra
I thought I would share some information about the new clearbra that are put on cars. I just got my car washed and waxed by a detailer. Apparently if you have swirl marks or fine scratches on your clear bra, you can use hot water to remove these imperfections. :w00t:

Suntek and Xpel are known to have the best self-healing property though they are expensive.

Bumping to see if anyone knows how to repair smudges on 3m venture shield.

Suntek and xpel have self-healing properties. Leave it out in the sun and any swirling/scratches will disappear. FYI I have my whole front end with inner door handle area, side mirror caps, and headlights/foglights done for 1300

If it's a blemish you can use compound as you would any other painted surface. Venture Shield is pretty old and doesn't have the updated self-healing as intense as the newer versions of 3M, SunTek or Xpel. It still heals just as most other vinyls though. Quote:

Modern low I would consider Scotchguard>VentureShield>Pro for 3M. I only market Venture and Pro as Scotch is not nearly as easy to install as Venture or Pro.
If compound doesn't fix the issue I'd say go back to your installer and have the piece warranties if possible. If not, just pay for it to be redone. Not sure on the market where you are but in my area I'd say $150 to replace it. And in case he didn't tell you, don't use bug and tar remover on clear bras. Can cause bad chemical reactions. |
