My siblings are really into that One Piece stuff. I have no clue about it though.

One piece is pretty good. Just there's so damn many episodes (like Bleach, Naruto & Hitman Reborn), so I haven't watched recently.

Good, keep it that way. It'll get you in some trouble.

On a side note, does Wangan Midnight pertain to street racing? Also, I've got like the first 7 dvd's of Initial D but I'm kind of having trouble finding the rest. I've seen a few of the others but then it seems like there's different versions or something. Where do you guys buy your stuff?

I stop watching from epi 2, but I did read all the manga. Manga was really good. There were a lot of technical stuffl mech, all other stuff.

As for finding the whole series... GL cuz, it's pretty hard to find.

hajime no ippo all
wangan is the story of devil Z and blackbird racing on the japan highways
box sets can be found in the plenty and cheap on ebay

Gost 11-04-2009 11:51 PM

the manga for wangan is good. the anime is a little bit boring in the beginning of the series, but it might be because i was watching it at like 2-3am. basically the story is about this young guy who finds a 240z (s30 Fairlady Z) of his dreams that has a bored L28 engine in it. and he races it on the wangan. its all about high powered cars gunning the highway system. And theres this mystical theme to it that his Z is possessed by a demon hence the name Devil Z.

WRT to Initial D, I have the whole set (minus Extra Stage 2) on my hard drive. PM me and maybe we can arrange a way for me to host it up for you.

If anyone has Wangan Midnight, I'd love to get it. I can't locate those anywhere.

mojo jojo 11-09-2009 08:19 PM

I have the first 8 eps or so of Wangan Midnight. I just couldn't stick with it past that point, the story lacked something, or maybe it was the music. The races look cool though, with all older cars in modern Intial D style.

Anyone else read Over Rev manga? Wish someone would make that anime.

ERA 11-09-2009 09:06 PM

If automotive anime's artistry of the people wasnt so stiff, I'd be way more interested. I know the focus isnt about people so much, but I'm a sucker for when it comes to how animation is approached. A series could have the shittiest story, however, if the art appeals to me, I'd watch it lol.

Xam'd would be a good example.

Xam'd had a good opening, the actual story was ok. I just rewatched Cowboy Bebop.

Funny? I just found out that no blood means not good.
Ok, I was joking. Anything appropriate for young girl?

Dimman 02-04-2011 12:58 AM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm getting old. Initial D was tolerable, and somewhat realistic in the sense that the kids (Takumi excepted) and what was going on was pretty 'normal'. (no demons or magic or purple hair) Some of the driving stuff was cool, and some was kind of weak. But it's the fanbois that have kind of wrecked its reputation.

But even it showed some titties in a supplementary 'movie'(?) about the chicks that were driving the 'Impact Blue' Sil-Eighty.

As for comparing that Subaru show and Sailor Moon, the girls in Sailor Moon looked more mature/older and when they transformed it just showed a rather conservative one-piece bathing suit (from what I remember) while the newer Subaru one, the girls look waaay younger and flash garter belts when they transform.

It's not that I'm all 'Oh no! Avert your eyes!' It's that I have a lot of groaning-facepalm moments watching most anime. Or hysterical laughter when it's not supposed to be funny. Or when it is, like in Rosario Vampire when one of the chicks is controlling the dude by rubbing her titties all over him. Sorry, not titties. Epic titties. I almost fell off my couch laughing. But at least there it was probably supposed to be funny.

Right, I feel like characters in the new ones(girls) look really young compare to the old ones. Maybe it's what anime companies thing is better over the old ones? who knows?

Rosario & Vampire? LOL Prob you're talking about Kurumu right? iirc she was succubus and have power to seduce men (well with those melons, doesn't need any power to seduce LMAO).

Well like I said, there's a lot more mature series that isn't ecchi or facepalming. If you give me a genre, I'll give you several list for ya.

Are you talking about the first season or second season? First season has 200 plus episodes (iirc). That's a lot to watch! iirc most girls I know like to watch Bleach series, so you can try that out too.

Kimi ni Todoke 2nd Season have been very disappointing (Epi 4 so far)... First season was really good, but happened? Seriously disappointing.

Higashi no Eden is good. Both movies were awesome. Kinda wish they made more.

This season wasn't too great... but next season (spring), a lots of good series are coming back. Gintama, Kampfer, The World God Only Knows, & Maria Holic and oddly Appleseed.

OVA/OAD/ONA & the Movie is looking good for Spring season too. Black Lagoon 3rd Season Epi 4 & 5, High School of the Dead OVA, .Hack//Quantum epi 3, Air Gear Special #2, Gundam Unicorn Epi 3, BakaTest, Senjyou no Valkyria OVA, oh and Ghost in the Shell S.A.G. Solid State Society 3D is coming in theater. Just pure awesomeness!

Hell no! It's not old! It's called Classic! There's a difference :) I love Macross series. I own em all! Even recent Macross Frontier movie! I went to Japan just to buy that in BluRay... well not really, but I did buy limited edition.

I never got the purpose of that site... I have over 2tb worth of animes (that's over 610 series) plus over 100 discs of anime & 20 plus VHS tapes. Going back and list all the animes I've watch gonna take long time...

Hm... I've pretty much watched all the anime since 80's til current, so pretty much only ones that I've never watched are 1)series that never uploaded online 2)series that I don't care. Also, if I wanna read the certain info/plot, updates, & etc I'll just go animenewsnetwork or wiki.
