Not really an anime type nerd...but these are my top3 series:
K-On! (food and cute girls!)
Honey & Clover (more cuteness!!)
Initial D (of course lol)

Attack on Titan is purty good too

Movies:
The usual, popular movies like Ghost in the Shell, Akira..blah blah bla
Anything Ghibli/Miyazaki (love that redhead girl that makes multiple appearances..also really want to see his final movie - the Wind Rises)
Evangelion

So..anyone else into K-On or Honey & Clover? ...hahaha

Recommendations to similar things to K-On! and Honey & Clover very welcome! ..ie: food, cute girls, funny

I'm probably one of the last people you'd imagine watching anime, but I have enjoyed the following:
  • Full Metal Alchemist
  • Death Note
  • Full Metal Panic Fummofu
  • Welcome to the NHK
  • Midori No Hibi
  • Naruto
  • Initial D
  • Dragon Ball Z
  • there's gotta be others....

Kill La Kill was great love that show. Now I got to get the DVD/BluRay when it comes out.

On man here is my list of things that I am watching right now.

-Date A Live ll
-Black Bullet
-No Game no Life
-Seikoku no Dragonar
-Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou
-Akuma no Riddle
-Gokukoku no Brynhildr
-Hitsugi no Chaika (Going to be a season 2 on Oct)

I would suggest watching Black Bullet and No Game no Life those two shows I really like and a good story behind it. Also Hitsugi is a good show and they are already going to come out with a season 2 at the end of the year.

One i haven't seen on this thread yet is Gantz. its pretty awesome and is really interesting in both concept and execution.

Kill La Kill turned out to be one of the craziest animes i've seen, loved it.

Currently Trying to keep up with the Bleach Manga, i really think that the 1000 year blood war arc should be animated but i doubt it will happen based on popularity.

Gundam Unicorn is so beautiful.

This times 239140293492341290342134. Except for the fact that they are taking forever to finish it. I was still in college when they started it.

I'm pretty sure my collection is outdated. The last anime I finished watching (Gundam Unicorn pending) was Code Geass.

Netflix has become my new source for anime. It's funny, if you go through the recommendations, it's pretty much all anime. I've seen Kill la Kill on there a lot but didn't click it until yesterday, finished it today. I loved it, made me laugh a lot. I'd say it's probably the most campy anime I've watched lately, but they do it so perfectly and the show is definitely aware of itself.

Not a single mention in this thread of Knights of Sidonia?

It skips around the manga (Sidonia no Kishi) a bit and leaves some really huge plot progress out that will have to be introduced at some point, but I enjoyed it a lot. Second season was confirmed for Japan, so here's hoping it did well for Netflix and they'll bring it over here too.

I just watched Knights of Sidonia. I liked it.

Outlawstar98 09-01-2014 11:22 PM

Anyone else watching Captain Earth?

AyeItsStevie 09-01-2014 11:38 PM

If you don't mind the commercials, Hulu isn't too bad with simulcasts. Second to Crunchyroll, imo.

Tokyo Ghoul is a pretty good series for this season. One of the slightly darker anime right now. Just started picking up. And for total nonsense, Survival Game Club is my go-to for now.

I had so much hope for it, amazing animation, solid background story (kind of), plenty of mysteries to be solved....and it ended with barely anything being answered. Plus that goddamn constant huhuhuhu....huhuhuhuuu laugh from the Guana girl

Unrelated...man animetake and nyaa torrents is experiencing a DDOS attack :mad0260: damn assholes out there

The laugh is creepy as shit though, if you think about it. Teammate in combat dies, and now they come back and are killing you and laughing about it.

But anyway, they've got a ton to work with. The manga is up to chapter 65 and I think they cut the anime off somewhere like early 20? But as I said, they missed some huge plot points, so they'll have to backtrack at some point too.
