Man it's almost funny how anime since the 90s hasn't really changed much in terms of dialogue.
Hero:*Gets the living sht beaten out of* Villian: Hahaha, prepare to die! Hero: *Has flashback about a time where he was in trouble and managed come back* Villian: *waits for the final blow* Hero: Not yet, I will now use my ultimate move! Villian: NANI??!! Hero: This is my Meteor Punch Super Technique! Villian: METEOR PUNCH???!! SUPER TECHNIQUE???!!!! Hero: Yes the technique that I just pulled out of my @ss because the show is named after me anyways so I can't die. Villian: NANI??!! NOoooOOOooooo. |
Side note, I forgot how much Saint Sieya and the other Knights almost sucked. That's because they spend about 2-3 episodes being a punching bag for the villians, just to pull a hail mary and suddenly remember to summon their Cosmo energy. Still a good anime nonetheless. I guess it still gives me that "Common Seiya! Fight for Athena and get up!" feeling for the next episode. But it can get quite repetitive about how every fight goes.

Plot armor is such a meme. Last week I was reading some discussion about that new Arcane show from the League of Legends stuff. People started talking about other anime or movies or whatever where some characters have such plot armor and can never die, blah blah blah. Meanwhile they're watching a show where we know none of the characters in the show that are from the game are going to die because they likely have more to do in the future. If anything the newer characters may have plot armor. But that's still plot armor! Yet people were like, "this show is so good and unique. No plot armor issues!"

Funimation and Crunchyroll are releasing new episodes for AoT, in anticipation for the Final Season: Part Two that releases on Jan 19. Polygon quote
"The episodes focus on a wide variety of characters, with each highlighting individual stories not shown in the mainline series. The first three episodes follow the eccentric scientist Hange Zoë as they attempt to capture their first live Titan. Episodes four and five tell the backstories of Captain Levi and Commander Erwin Smith, and the rest are based on the Attack on Titan: Lost Girls spinoff and focus on Annie Leonhart and Mikasa Ackermann." https://www.polygon.com/22837973/att...on-crunchyroll |

An old vintage manga that dominated in the late 80's to early 90's long ago by the same guy that did Ranma½. It is finally getting a series. The girl character Lum was super popular and was regularly featured in magazines like Animerica and Newtype. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urusei_Yatsura |
Komi Can't Communicate on Netflix is both adorable and hilarious.

Just finished watching Carole and Tuesday. Pretty decent although kinda weird pacing issues and subplots lol.
On a side note, I really wish that Accel World would resume being animated... the light novels are decent enough and tbh I like it more than Sword Art Online (by the same author). But I guess AW never got very popular in Japan like SAO. sigh. |
