Cheap ORP Trackday September 21st
Come out and join me for some of the best budget track time in the Northwest! $125 for a whole day is about as good as you'll find, so whether you're a seasoned track junkie, or have never set foot on a racetrack there is room for everybody to play with their car's limits in a safe and legal environment. For those who don't know ORP (Oregon Raceway Park) is a fantastic venue with one of the most technical courses outside of go-karting or autocross.
**EDIT: Looks like group A is full and starting a waitlist, still spaces in group B and C :burnrubber: Trackmap. http://www.2-fast.org/images/ORP-2010-Aerial.jpg Registration is here http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...5#.Vdya3_lVhBc I intended to make a thread closer to the event but it's already nearly full (8 spots left) so sign up now! https://i.imgflip.com/q1ra9.jpg |
When do I get to come for the ride along?

It's not on the calendar yet, but I've been in touch with the organizers. It'll be late October. |
I'm in. I do not have a helmet, so will need a loaner and I have only tracked once with Team Continental in May...any issues you can see with this?
CW OR CCW? :) |

It's now showing "Sold Out... waiting list only" :( |

Thrown myself onto the waiting list...we'll see what happens now...
Cheers. |

If you have been around the course and are confident in your ability to see the corner workers and check your mirrors you'd probably do fine in B. I've done a couple of open passing (passing in corners) days with people who have NEVER BEEN ON A TRACK BEFORE, and everything turned out just fine. |
I second @Decay107. You've been there before you'll be OK in B. Get hold of the organizers ASAP, because there aren't many spots left in B.

Great! It was CCW in May, too, so I should be able to build on what I learned there :) |
Still trying to secure insurance with Lockton...they make this SO hard...*sigh*

I have a Sparco fixed back bucket for the driver and a stock for the passenger, all factory 3 point. Turn 2 didn't care; will this organization care? (It's against scca rules)

Gotta love self tech, everyone watch out for wheels coming off of old Datsuns mid corner
|
had one off, all 4 wheels off the track, took out a cone...could have been worse..but got some battle scars on the passenger side. most of it should just buff out.
overcooked turn 2 after being waved by by doug and jblmr2 in their FRS's. Embarassing! but also got me to put my head down and concentrate harder on lines by myself rather than just playing chase. Debating why i really need coilovers though...my car with the stock suspension kept up with Doug's car reasonably well. Figure I might just need some subframe inserts and diff inserts. camber plates up front and get a -2deg front and -1deg rear alignment. The RE-71R gripped great but wear FAST! Brake pads (project mu800HC+) were good but was experiencing fade in atleast two corners after about 15 mins of track time. ALso on this particular track, I didn't feel like the FR-S was wanting for power. I need an oil cooler badly before I track it again. Playing with fire running factory 0W20 oil without an oil cooler for track duty. Good times. can't wait to do it again! |
