Side Window Deflectors

I am in the market for some side window deflectors because I live in Seattle and the rainy weather is going to hit soon. What brands would you guys recomend? Any personal experience? I was about to buy the weather tech ones but unfortunately they do not make it for the twins.

I've been through 2 sets of the cheap eBay ones. Should have learned my lesson after the first set.

I'd buy the genuine Toyota ones if I was going to do it again.

Had Ebay window deflectors on my ST185, they were trash.
The 86 I bought here in Japan came with them factory fitted, and I've had absolutely no problem with them at all.

Hey packofcrows. Are you speaking from personal experience with the OEM ones? What's turning you off from them?

I went OE, havent had any issues. Fitment is spot on.

$320 cost is turn off imo. To each their own. Yes ive seen em. They are sturdy and dont fade in sun like $15 NAPA ones.

I have on truck weather techs. $80 (4 of em) 4yrs now, dd, no issue, no discoloration. When my sis was 8, she'd hang from them.

Just my xp.

P.s. weathertech does make em if you email/call em. Try HIC

Edit: Cost dropped. $200-$250 now. If you order from Japan, shipping and handling can cost you another $100 though!

Where would you get the genuine Toyota ones? From a dealership?

WhiteFRS69 08-24-2015 06:09 PM

anyone have a part number?

zc06_kisstherain 08-24-2015 06:10 PM

since our door doesnt have window frame, visor goes directly to car's body.
it doesn't function well on rainy day. i got rid of it because of that.

Not sure. I'd do a Google search, and stay away from eBay.

Perhaps @Calidrifter can enlighten us or @nigel-jdmparts

I believe there is no 'real' part#, rather a universal fit. :iono:

Anyways hope you two can enlighten us further. (Price and part #)

Edit: Here they are My xgf has 'em just gave her a quick Skype.

@TimmyC

Thank you for the research, I greatly appreciate it! I will have to think this over before making a purchase, $200 for visors is a tiny bit steep for me at the moment.
