LED Door handles prototype
I've always liked the lights on the door handles of bmw's and Lexus's so I decided to do it to my frs.

So i pretty much can't open my door with the key anymore... Didn't think I'd ever use it. Looks way cleaner IMO. Worse came to worse.. I'll crawl through the trunk :P As for wiring, I just followed the diode dynamic install guide for the side mirrors with puddle lights install video. Just followed the puddle light install portion. So the lights fade on and off when locking and unlocking the doors. Turning on the light inside the car doesn't affect the lights on the door handles. http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/s...psc8j2rkti.jpg |

Would it be possible to put the LED in the inner edge of the handle itself, so it illuminates the concave circular portion?
Might have to investigate! |
Sweet!

this is an awesome idea!
can you provide the link to the Diode Dynamics install of the puddle lamps? ive been searching, dont know what im missing but i cant find it thanks! im surprise diode dynamic didnt come out with something like this for the doors |
I think if you find an LED with a lot more diffusion, it'll be a nice touch.
Less like a spotlight but more of glow or illumination. |
