Drift alignment. rear toe problem and front sway bar rubbing
 

Hey guys i got into drifting this summer running a almost stock FRS with a lapping alignment at the beiginning of the season. I run on eibach sportline spring with camber bolt in front and spc rear control arm

Alignment was 1/8 toe out frotn with -0.8°degree front
0 toe rear with -1.8°deg rear
Front rims enkei kojins 8.5 +45 with 235 40 18 kuhmo XS

Now i played with the suspension alignment a little during the season trying different stuff. I put more camber upfront because my wheel aligner didnt install the camber bolt properly i just maxed them out but i had to back a little since i was touching spring perch

My biggest issue is the rubbing on the frame/swaybar tough when almost full lockout. Since i am running +45wheels i tought of buying 25mm spacers to try and clear the rubbing and that way i dont have to spend extra on studs or having to shorten them and not changing wheels because i really like the look of them

For the rear i eventually decided to try and get as less camber as possible with the spc lca. I still have a little camber but my biggest issue right now is that i still am at 1/4" open when I align the car with toe plates. what rear trailing arms are you using to be able to zero your toe back there.

On my to buy list right now i only have coilovers (flex z if i buy new or something with higher spring rate if i buy used) and whiteline rollcenter adjuster kit because the weight transfer is pretty hard imo (i know coiloverw while help a lot here)

Anyway I started this thread to discuss because i think the other drift thread is more of a "how to drift" for drivers with no experience at all

Did you install the toe bushing that came with the SPC arms?

I don't think you'll get the front wheels in under the fenders with a 25mm spacer added unless you add a ton of camber. Source, I have nowhere near 25mm of clearance to the fender with 17x8 +45's and -2* of camber up front.

I wil be running -3 to -4 when i have coilovers. I'll max out my camber tonight with the spacers on since i think i will have enough room not to touch my spring perch on the setup that i have right now

Pictures aren't overly helpful, just max out the camber and measure how much clearance you have at the fender. If you have more than 25mm, you're good for the spacer. If you have less, you'll rub.

forgot to take pictures but i clear fender now but i rub at the back of the fender liner now 😑😑

Which spacers? When/where do you rub the fender liner, inside or outside? Rubbing over bumps, or at full steering lock?

Here is the rubbing that I was talking about. I have redone the front alignment with 1'' spacers and a lot more camber (idk the amount i just measured and made sure it was equal on both side)

final result with 1'' spacer and 8.5'' wheels +45 with 235/40r18

I did not drift yet with this setup will keep updated as soon as I can

LOVE THE NEW SETUP. Litterally it is night and day. Entry on the course was at 130km/h and I was scared at 1st but when i saw the difference in grip in front I could go pedal down all the way.
