Remote Fuel Level Gauge

Has anyone ever installed a separate gauge for their fuel level?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm having a custom cluster being made for my Racepak. And I don't believe Racepak can report fuel levels. correct me if I'm wrong!

I haven't installed the racepak yet so I haven't had a chance to play with it.

But instead of using a USM and wiring it from the tank to my dash and having to calibrate it.. I thought it might just be easier to tap into the OEM fuel level wires and remote mount a separate gauge somewhere hidden..

Anyone have any ideas on how to do this and if anyone has done it before?

I tried searching and searching and couldn't find anything.

You can get fuel level through Torque, so all you'd need is an OBD based gauge.

Dunno if you can look at PIDs, but in Torque, the fuel sensor is PID 2129.

Yeah I was thinking of that.. I called racepak and they said I can't add any custom PIDs.. but they said if it is transmitted via the ECU then it might be an option to choose.. I guess we'll see when I finally hook it up next week.

no idea but you may want to post in the autocross/racing forum.

I posted some info here about additional data channel for the aim system
