USB disconnects randomly - no sound?
Hi,1st post, so here goes...
Car is a 2015 Toyota 86. It is fantastic except for plugging my iPhone in via USB to listen to podcasts while I drive. The head unit recognizes the iPhone, I can select iPod and it begins playing where it left off. Except one problem. 50% of the time there is no volume. The podcast plays, but no sound comes out of the speakers. To fix this I have tried Restarting the car Reconnecting the iPhone Turning the iPhone off and on Trying a different iPhone Turning off the Bluetooth on the car and phone Changing the order I connect it so that it's plugged in before I start the car The iPhones I have tried are both brand new latest versions Then I will leave the car for a while and when I leave work it works perfectly. The issue is completely random. Thoughts? Maybe I should ignore the USB cable and try connecting with Bluetooth? |
I have a 2013 and my stereo does something similar.
I have my iPod plugged in all the time and it will stop working randomly. But with mine a message comes up on the screen saying something like 'there are no songs to be found on this device.' Then I'll unplug the iPod and plug it back in and it still won't work. It's totally random and I just have to wait until it starts working again. That's why I always keep a favorite cd of mine in the stereo. |
