I’m not selling anything but thought this would be the best place to post- for those of you around Seattle/Lake Stevens and looking for stock parts, I was at Gunner’s and there was an Ablaze 2017 86 in the yard. It is not listed in Row 52 so I was completely surprised to see it, along the north side of the yard not really part of any row. Forgot to take any pictures because I was so excited but it has really bad front and left side damage. The whole front end and drivetrain is gone, airbags deployed, left door beyond repair. I took the left taillight and the right one was totally broken. Parts that still looked good include the trunk with spoiler (don’t remember if it was OEM but could have been), rear bumper, and both seats.

Re: $1000 2017 BRZ engine. I messaged him as it seems like a fantastic deal. But it needs head gaskets due to over heating. I have no idea how this could happen on a street car with less than 20k miles.
But I don’t think it’s as simple as putting a new head gasket set on it. The heads and or block I would think would need to be machined flat at least. Unless you’re capable of this labor yourself, locally in Portland, it’ll be around $2k to have this work done. And since all the shops are backed up, it might be a couple of months before you’d get the assembled engine back. Just a quick reality check for all of us that thought “I’m interested n my way to Seattle RIGHT NOW.” |
