@Missy a pin came loose in the shift linkage. Relatively easy fix, i just dont have the time to get to it before sunday. 1st and 2nd gear are a total pain in the ass. I have to use the reverse lockout to find first gear.

Is it the pin in the bottom of the shift lever under the car? As long as it's not broken it should be 30-60mins to bend it and make it go back on. Or the pin in the reverse lockout? (don't know about that as that's one of the few things I haven't modded yet.)

Oh God, no. I'm not familiar with the linkage so I'm concerned it could fail completely. I have visions of sitting in the back of my dad's 69 beetle with the access panel under the back seat removed, shifting for him with a screwdriver so we could get home.
