Camera settings for in cockpit shots

What camera are you using and what is your preferred settings for in-cockpit videos?

I have an old GoPro Hero HD that I've mounted on the rear window upside-down. 720P and a wide shot. It's decent but I've seen nicer videos with people using GoPro in cockpit. Curious what everyone is using.

I really like @Lunatic's viewpoint. Been meaning to ask him about it. ORP a couple weeks ago.

Oh yeah, he'll pipe in. This was at Oregon Raceway Park. I'm really looking forward to driving it.

Track surface looks so fresh.

I am happy with the viewing angle after I made some changes
I've been happy with this combo below (simply attached the Go PRO roll bar mount to the Arkon extension mount): Later I've placed the extension arm to my seat since I was moving the passenger seat back and forth and changing the angle between sessions...

It's a sony Action Cam, mounted from the passenger visor. I also use a Nexus 7 with data. It mounts with a cd slot mount.

Oregon Raceway Park is by far my favorite track, and I have ran every track on the west coast. It's the most technical, 400 feet of elevation change. Quite challenging but a kick in the but to drive.

Here's Chuckwalla Valley Raceway with my Nexus 7 and CMS data. The bungy cords keep it from shaking.

And it's easy to reach to turn the camera off and on. Sony also has software that will log track data from the camera.

I would have never guessed that was mounted to the visor. So stable.
