Sportlines and Koni

I am currently on sportlines and stock dampers - mostly is fine and I'm enjoying the car on decent roads, but suspension travel is limited. Hitting bumpstops in the rear going over potholes and other typical surprises found in NY roads. It makes me cringe a bit. Aside from superior damping, do konis offer additional travel over stock units? Thanks

I'm not an expert, but I can provide a bit of feedback I believe on this particular subject..
I'm an inch lower on Hotchkis. So far the stock dampers have allowed more travel than the stock CV joints are actually okay with. I would think some Koni's would be better not for travel itself, but rather offering more resistance to prevent some travel that the CV joints don't seem to like. Again, this is feedback just from personal experience, my joints blew up on me a few months ago from too much angle on the track and autoX I believe(common theme amongst autocrossers and lowered guys). That seems to be a weak point on our cars.
I don't know that Koni's offer more travel, but I do think overall they would benefit you. In my case, I'm just going to look for a coilover setup.

Never even thought of that - thank you for the feedback. I considered coilovers as well, but from what I gather you have to go 1500 and up to get dampers anywhere close to the konis. I know the sportlines aren't the ideal but I like the ride height a lot. Maybe I'll just give them a shot, appreciate the insight.

The Bilstein B14s are probably a good alternative. We run them on our Project BRZ for street and track use. Only downside is they aren't dampening adjustable like the Konis. One of our favorite setups is Konis + Eibach Prokit.

Thanks - I'm leaning toward the Konis with my existing springs now, performance wise with the Konis, you think there's a significant performance difference between the ProKit and the Sportline springs? (I assume the sportlines will probably require the Konis to be set a little harder)
