35% Tint recommendation?

Title says it all. Previous owner installed 5% but my safety is coming up. I've been looking at a few shops.

For removal and install:

Hawaii professional tinting estimated me $135-300 for lowest quality to highest ceramics (solar gard brand)

Tint zone $280 for ceramic tint (solar gard brand)
$500 for 3m

Midnight tinting $180 for Solar Gard Supreme or $280 for Solar Gard ultra performance.

1) What brand do you guys have?
2) Anyone with experience with these shops?
3) What's the difference between Solar Gard Ultra versus supreme? On the website, their heat rejection at 35% is about the same.

Thanks in advance.:thanks:

Midnight Tinting is run by Ronald McCullough, formerly owned by Sean Saiki, of Midnight Racing.

Ron's awesome. very professional and will go the extra mile to take care of you. I really can't think of anyone else I'd rather have my tint done by.

Sorry never been to any of those shops. I went to a guy known as Flawless Tinting. got recommended by someone I work with, and he did a good job took him about an hour to get my car done and costed about $200 to tint, but can't give you information about removing. his IG is flawless_tinting he has a direct contact number in his info.

Ended up going to Ron. Did a great job, fair price, he also cut around third break light to comply with Hawaii safety... Hawaii safety -.- :bs:

Depends on what the tint's primary function is...

* Heat Rejection
* Security

I got a LLumar ceramic tint on my Impala SS when I got that car tinted. It was definitely pricey once I was told the cost of doing the install ($380.00). I still had installed because of the heat rejection qualities. On hot summer days, once the interior is cooled the AC barely run because there's hardly any heat coming through the glass. Secondly, its a 30% tint so it helps block the visual prying of unsavory characters

:iono: Would I do it again, this time on the BRZ... Yes.

Update
Just checked the heat rejection stats just for fun... they say on the one that I have (CTX® 30 CH SR HPR (Charcoal)), that it rejects 51% of total solar energy.
