86 Cup Round 9 - ACS Roval, 2:03.94 fastest time of the day

We had round 9 of the 2015 86 Cup presented by Cusco-Winmax on Saturday August 8 2015 at ACS Roval.

Here's my fastest time of the day:

Leaving about 2-3 seconds on the track with minor changes in braking/shifting, but overall I'm having loads of fun with the car out there!

And on a side note, here's a lap (or so) of some drafting fun with a fast driver in the Cusco FRS, and another guy in a Lotus. We had fun and definitely laughed it out after the session was over.

Awesome vid. Thanks for sharing. I've never been to ACS. Looks fun.

From approx. the 1:15 mark you can see the chase sequence where the Cusco FRS is drafting me down the ACS front straight into T1/T2 bank:

Always amazes me how small the rearview mirror is in the Elise/Exige. You'd think there'd be some massive blind spots on that car.

Also a bit scary seeing the Exige running through sand/dirt at high speed through the banked oval section (2:23 in the second video).

Nah, there should be context...

About an hour before that, a Camaro caught fire and dumped a trail of fluid from the entry of T1 into T2 (mid-bank) on the lower line. It took 30 minutes to clean up, and after we ran again the dust was eventually blown up to the higher line on the track.

What you see is the little bit of dust that's left on the track. Most people ran a middle line for the sessions immediately after the cleanup, so it looked worse than what it was.

Ah that makes sense. One of my friends who lives in South Carolina has been inviting me to drive down and run Daytona with him, but I'll admit one of my fears is losing control on the banked oval at high speed if there's any oil/dirt on the asphalt. Especially on the high line, I think I'd crap myself. Haha I don't know if that's a rational fear or not though...
