2017 Model Year Improvements

-Redesign: new bumpers, a restyled hood with vents, updated headlights, and a wider lower grille
-HP will be 208 or 210
-Torque: 159 pound-feet (new intake manifold and friction reductions reportedly allow for 5% more grunt)
-The adjustments will improve fuel economy by 7%

According to a Toyota Insider

Oh boi, I think the reports of these came from motoring.au so... I'd take them with a grain of salt. However, a mid cycle refresh is a possibility for MY17/18 which most likely would include revised headlights, tail lights, bumpers, the bump in power & torque plausible. I try to stay clear of the speculations and "inside sources" but, it is entertaining to speculate...within reasonable parameters

If you throw enough shit at a wall some will stick. The clickbaits throw enough that some will be right. Love all these unnamed "insiders" that give all this "information" at risk of what is likely a very good job.
Recreational speciation is fun but to many believe this tripe and wait for unicorns that never show up.

My unicorn is already in my garage.

Lol doesn't seem like allthe boost shit is sticking. FTR I think the car is fine the way it is. I prefer to build my own car anyway.

It's true.

The 2017 refresh will be a game changer.
But I've already said too much. Here are a
few early spy pics. Enjoy. -The Insider

I demand a rematch against the ND Miata at Streets of Willow now that we finally have true performance improvements.

Does the Miata have a spare tire? I dont think so. We should demand a rematch in the meantime with our car having the jack and tire removed! :mad0260:

It's supposed to be awd with turbo dammit! DAMMIT!!!!

Teseo 08-08-2015 01:26 PM

No turbo? No AWD? Not interested

wbradley 08-08-2015 01:35 PM

The basic underpinnings are excellent. Unless they make an S2000 with back seats, theres no reason to hold off. And, they won't.

FiReStorm2013 08-08-2015 01:40 PM

Don't kill the messenger.

I just heard from a friend of a friend's, mailman's, personal chef's, castle guy's, moat guy's, best friend's, mom who is related to the exporter/importer Art Vandelay's, neighbor's, prostate checker's, pot guy's, babysitter's roommate who happens to be a Toyota Insider. So blame that guy.

chriswian 08-08-2015 01:49 PM

Speculations are correct. I heard from a scion insider that they'll be replacing the model name from FRS to TRDLZR. Srs
