Sunday drive

Is anyone interested? If so, I am open to suggestions.

I might be interested depending on time and duration, I know some pretty good shake down roads on the west side of town.

I am thinking afternoon, not too long. Like two hours tops with beers afterwards.

stockysnail 08-07-2015 09:44 PM

I currently don't have anything going on Sunday so a couple hours max would be good.

Decay107 08-08-2015 12:15 AM

As long as I'm back by around 4, I'm down.

Jonesy86 08-08-2015 01:23 AM

@Decay107 care to show us a map of what you had in mind?

Decay107 08-08-2015 03:17 AM

Well it depends entirely on how long we'd like to drive, I have two routes that are my favorites due to complexity and lack of police presence.
First up is my shake down course, I call it the Newbergring and I use it to test out changes I've made to my suspension.

Then there is a longer loop I've done a few times, little more complicated and the roads are not in the best shape (caught a bit of air the last time I drove it) , but it's a good drive.

I vote the 2nd one but stop in Vernonia for lunch at a great Lebanese place.

I was planning on suggesting a drive eventually but thought I'd be too busy but perhaps you guys would like it with a stop in Vernonia like I said for some great food half way. The starting and ending point doesn't have to be my house.

Lets go with #2 and lunch! Now, what time shall we start? 11 am? Noon?

Decay107 08-08-2015 07:04 PM

I vote 11

stockysnail 08-08-2015 11:03 PM

@Jonesy86 and @Decay107 shall we meet at my house at 11am since it will be on your way? And whoever else wants to come?

Jonesy86 08-09-2015 04:34 AM

Sure! If it rains i may opt out.

Decay107 08-09-2015 02:32 PM

Unfortunately, I've got to bow out. Girlfriend is having car issues, must go troubleshoot.

Have fun! It's a great drive. (Be careful on the hairpins, gravel at all the right hand apexes.

Everyone missed out except @Jonesy86 and I. It was a good drive got the mph up to an unmentionable amount. We stopped in Vernonia for some yummy Lebanese food then went back down to Timber Road. I thought about turning around and going back up Timber Road but I needed to be home by a certain time.

Next time lets get 20 cars doing this!

Jonesy86 08-09-2015 08:21 PM

Thanks for leading @stockysnail! Timber rd was a blast!

Did you guys catch air at the end of that long straight after crossing over 26? Both @thehapaone and myself managed to the last time we took that route :party0030:

I was being a little casual since I've never driven that road before. Definitely noticed going up but don't think I caught air. Need you to show us how it's done. ;)
