Got my black legacy license plates
 

Just got my black legacy license plates today (I put in my order when the program was first announced). While the black legacy plates with yellow numbers were originally for 1960's cars, and some may argue that it doesn't belong on a modern car, I ordered them because:

1. The black plate with yellow numbers is less obtrusive than the standard white plate with blue numbers on my DGM BRZ, and I feel, matches better.
2. I consider our cars an 'instant classic' milestone in Japanese sports car design, like the Z, RX-7 etc, hence a 'classic plate' isn't out of place on it. That's the story I'm sticking to, anyway. ;)
3. It's something a little different.

I know some may like it, some may not, but I'm just posting pics here so you can see what they look like on our car. I think that the legacy plate would look great on a black car with yellow brake calipers, or the yellow limited edition FR-S.

I considered getting those when the program was first announced but didn't go through with it. I think it fits well! Beautiful car too, love everything about it.

I saw one on the road today on a bagged VW cc. Looked good. My vehicle is employee lease but when I buy it off I plan on doing this too.

Do you know how long the program is for? Do they issue you a new plate # or just make your current one black?

You can get either a replacement sequential plate or personalized plate.

Love how it looks. Still waiting for mine to come in. I hate waiting.

Looks great!!! Was about to order mine back when it was first announced. Glad it finally came through. Now I need to think of a personal plate name :(
