FRS scion , flimsy front bumper ?

I was waxing my FRS today and I noticed the front bumper piece right above the grill is super flimsy , I can press it in and flex it , is this normal ? I've never had a car Like that lol thanks

Normal. Light weight car has lightweight parts. Every little bit adds up.

I leaned my hand against my fender and noticed that it flexed. It's a car made of painted tin foil.

Think it this way, if u press any parts on lotus & it bends in. Would you call it flimsy? 😂 hope that makes you feel better.

Hi ya, @timmymartinez and WELCOME to FR-S ownership ......

Yes, when waxing your car ..... use only lightweight microfiber towels.

If you use an old dish towel (or a baby diaper) it will be too heavy and dent the car. Yes, baby diapers ...... like made out of cotton .... we used to put them on babies, then wash them out and reuse them...... oh, never mind ....:bonk:

The front bumper is "flexible" so that when you hit a bird at over 130 MPH, the bumper will give (to reform) and not dent.

I think its past my med time ....:respekt:

Light, strong, cheap - pick 2.

It's tough in all the right places.

Yes. Charging more for tinfoil doesn't magically make it more durable.

If you were going faster than 130 mph in this car, the bird would hit whatever was towing it.

This thread reminds me of the post last year where the guy sat on his trunk lid and left an imprint of his ass. I truly love this car, but I have no illusions about the trade-offs made to save weight.

Is the paint protection film for the front bumper from the dealership be any beneficial?
