You truely hate that term don't you?
We do have the same cars after all so I don't understand the problem (I know, I know you have explained before).

But I'm already fascinating. You having the same car as me just means you must be interested in everything I have to say! :)

iono

Some people hate certain words and flip out.
Most people don't like being assigned something.

Maybe if I liked more people who said it, if it was followed by some insightful meaningful commentary or helpful advice or knowledge sharing. No wait, I just imagined sitting in a room talking spec Miatas with racers sharing knowledge openly and I hated it in that context too.

I have no idea, I just saw it last night and felt like posting the gif

:iono: it bothers you that much?
You're a human, humans are supposed to like being part of groups. Something something innate dependency on other humans... being social animals and what not. *shrug* I guess you can't help what bothers you.

Some groups not many people want to be a part of.

The phrase "our cars" around here seems to precede some seriously trivial comments that do not engender anything other than dismissal from me.

Guess I'm a judgy whore.

Let’s be honest, our cars need a better exhaust to fit its sports car credentials.

I can understand that. Wish you hadn't linked this thread though.... because I found this:

Hypothetically if there was a fly hovering inside a bus. The fly did no motion on it's own, it is in a perpetual hover in one location relative to the ground.

If the bus started to move forward. Would the fly...

A: Still stay in that one spot relative to the ground outside and slam into the back of the bus.

or

B: While hovering in 1 spot and not altering its direction on its own, move WITH the bus as the bus moves forward.

Think about it. :paddle:

Although your explanation seemed the correct one.... This will require thought.

Our cars are all manufactured by Subaru? :iono:

No need to hurt your brain overthinking it, strat and swarb were both in fact correct in the original thread. Both due to the air being "stationary" in relation to the car, and increase density behind the fly due to the compression incited by acceleration against the back of the cabin. And depending on how a fly actually achieves its flight/movement, the fly might move forward in an accelerating car.

More of a debate between fluid dynamics and Newtonian physics than anything.

When viewed from that angle I guess I agree. Not much get's under my skin as much as comments like "we all know our cars need more power/better tires/stronger paint/etc/etc" since a personal preference is being assigned to everybody.
Comments such as "our cars are built in Japan" don't bother me though since that is an iron clad fact.
