Rays lug nuts stain

Guys Ive got stains on my Rays lug nuts. They are the duraluminum type. It looks like water stains or might be what they call oxidation. No matter what I do they wont come off. Ive tried wax....water/vinegar solution....still nothing. Anyone have success on this type of problem?

pics? Not much you can do without damaging the anodized coat. Try a scouring pad or light sanding?

Looks like oxidation to me. Did you use any harsh cleaners that sat on the surface of the lug nuts?

Unfortunately I cant remember...anyway is there any way to fix this? A DIY method would be nice...thanks.

There's not much you can do...sand it a little bit and wax it.

But even so it still won't look that great.

@ciotime, I'd suggest you try some silver polish or brass polish. Use a buffer wheel unless you have a lot of spare time on your hands.

Yep, silver polish ..... it's under the sink ...... way to the back.

The brass polish is in the shoe box ...... to polish the brass belt buckle, after you spit shined your boots.

humfrz - needs a :slap:

Besides polishing, can't you heat it up like in an oven then throw in cold water?

As they're aluminum this would just screw up their heat treatment. No way in hell they'd be safe to use after that...
