Lets talk about suspension Poly & Solid bushings / mounts...
First I would like to start off by saying I know that Polyurethane & Solid aluminum bushings will affect my NVH and yes I have driven on full Poly/solid bushing and mount setup before so I know what I'm getting myself into.
I've done more than a little bit of research on the available, or lack of, Polyurethane Bushings on the market right now and I was wondering if there are any companies out there developing rear subframe / differential mounts bushings? From my memory I believe that White-Line is the only company has a poly subframe bushing set on the market and by Subframe bushings I mean fully replaceable bushings, not those subframe collar kits. Another product that is non existent on the market right now is a fully replaceable transmission mount, but again all I can find are inserts for the transmission mounts and other rubber mount alternatives (Megan Racing / "STI" mounts). My questions to you the FT-86 community: - Are any companies/members developing fully replaceable Polyurethane bushings for the subframe or differential? - Has there been any progress to develop more Polyurethane Motor mounts other than the Perrin ones? - Has there been any progress or development of a fully replaceable transmission mount? PS: I'm not asking about bushing collar kits, I'm asking about bushings / mounts that actually replace the existing rubber bushing / mounts. Thank you guys and sorry if the post is a little unorganized. :bonk: |
I am running Super pro insert bush for the rear differential and subframe , front transmission mount . And basically every single bushes super pro have for the car .
Front subframe i have spoon rigid collar kit . |
Powerflex make bushing for our car , probably has subframe and different mount too .
Cusco , TRD has engine mount too . |

Example: http://www.revworksinc.com/Whiteline...-S_p_1047.html I have the white-line transmission insert but again I'm trying to figure out if anyone has found a replacement for the rubber transmission mount not just a poly insert. Example: http://www.carid.com/torque-solution...FVUlgQodHUkHNg |

rear differential and subframe are replacement bush .
There is no bush for the front subframe , therefor we can do bolt or collar If there is engine or transmission mount insert(replacement) bush , I would just do that , it is just much cheaper compare replace the whole mount !! |

There are other also Solid aluminum bush for us , I just don't remember who sell them , cause i think it just too much for a car still has street duty .

Also I would rather have a new replacement mount for the transmission to eliminate any rubber from the mount. |
May I ask why you don't want the inserts? The full replacements are a lot more work for what will end up being nearly the same performance.
Also, is this a race car? Because a full polly sub frame and diff with a solid trans mount is going to be awful to drive in the street. Ask me how I know.... |

It's not a race car and I also know how it is with solid diff & poly subframe / engine + tranny mounts. I've been driving my e36 325i for almost 3 years with that bushing/mount combination on the street for my daily 90 mile commute to work. Lets please keep this discussion on track and focused on fully replaceable Poly or Solid mounts and bushings. |
@wootwoot don't you know you have to have super stiff bushings when you're "fuh raze" dropped on Megans to make the super low entries into the parking lots?

Your three original questions could have been answered by a search. Cusco, Trd, STi, and Perrin make motor mounts. TRD/STI make a stiffened trans mount that is rubber. Whiteline makes subframe replacements in full poly. They may also have diff replacements in poly. TRD/Sti make upgraded sub frame and and diff replacements, but they are rubber. You seem to already be aware of the solid replacements. |

I should have mentioned in my original post that I know about the existing parts on the market so that is my fault that I didn't make that clear. Basically I wanted to know if there are any other products for these applications in full polyurethane or solid aluminum/delrin either in development or on the market now but not widely known about yet. From the replies so far it seems like the options listed above are the only products on the market right now, unless someone has access to the tools to create their own mounts/bushings. |
