Finding legal avenues

Quick question for the FI crowd. What legal troubles with going FI? (Not talking about traffic violations). How do you get around any CARB or emission problems? Any title issues? DMV? Anything else to worry about?

CSG Mike 07-28-2015 04:10 PM

Legally? Buy a CARB legal kit and you'll be okay in any other state.

Retain your catalytic converters and you shouldn't have an issue with emissions. Also don't forget to report your mods to your insurance company so they can increase your premiums and then not provide coverage.

Is there a carb legal turbo kit?

GsxrMe 07-28-2015 05:42 PM

^What Lonewolf said. Not to nit-pick, but Jackson Racing, WORKS and Kraftwerks have CARB kits that are released. Edelbrock most likely will have a CARB cert, but is not released quite yet.

What do all of the other turbo users do to avoid problems?

Not get caught.

Avoid driving like an idiot.

Be respectful if pulled over.

Deal with tickets/having to swap back to swap for inspection if caught.

Draco-REX 07-28-2015 07:45 PM

Move to an area with no inspections and do what you want. :)
