What would you guys do?
Hi,
When I bought my brz I asked my sales person that nobody drive it due to the crucial (according to subaru) 1000 mile break in. My salesman agreed. When I picked the car up it had 30 kms on it, he said this was driving from ports to the train etc.. When I looked at my inspection sticker it said the car had 8kms on it when it arrived at the dealership which seems about right. I was pretty pissed, that could have been a pretty hard 22 first kilometers. What would you guys do, I have an email into my salesman letting him know my thoughts. |
Well honestly a kind of hard break in is good for the car, but not WOT and redlining it. Personally I would show proof as you said with the sticker and demand some forms of compensation.

Yeah, that's a hard call. I know when I got my car it had 11 KM on it and my dealer told me that they had to drive it a bit further than usual so they could fill it at a station with 94 octane.
30 KM's seems like a bit much. Maybe somebody at the dealership is interested in it and wanted to see how it drives. I doubt they were redlining it but the hard thing is that you don't know. It's really a shame. Crappy dealer. |
Got mine at 9miles. :)
Talk to the manager. |
