There are some basic aerodynamic rules you have to stick to unless you have the means to test your diffuser in a wind tunnel. You don't need to cut out the spare tire well because the angle would be all wrong since the diff and suspension arms are in the way.

The way we made ours does give us the correct angle and we're able to get the surface area we wanted by extending it past the bumper. Does it work well? Yes! The car definitely felt more planted with just that change. We have a bunch of short clips on Instagram from the Ultimate Track Car Challenge but I haven't uploaded a full video yet.

It charvonia design diffuser. It require cutting the rear bumber.
Keith Charvonia was team member of that scion challenge winning FRS.

hummm, after looking at Keith Charmonia build and seeing the roll bar mounted to the floor right behind the seat. I can only conclude that he is all show and no go. Mounting the cage at this location is a recipe for disaster in case of roll over the bar would perforate the floor and become useless...

see that image, and if you look closer you will see how the bar perforated the floor.

I don't think he can be trusted for anything else than his style. the car looks good though.
