OEM STI wheels + Spacers

Hate to start a thread about this, but I'm not getting enough answers and not enough posts about this topic, so I'm doing a shot in the dark here.

Did a bunch of searches and found a few people running 20/25 or 25/30 spacers on the series blue STI wheels.

However, a forum user in the Series blue registry thread was saying that the indentation for weight reduction on the sti wheels are not as deep, and that 20mm spacers do not work for them.

Can anyone confirm this? I already bought 25mm spacers so I need to know before I can purchase another pair.

Different brand spacers give different sized lugs that might stick out.

Here are some pics of when I had H&R 20/25's. Real close on the 20, but you should be fine with the 25.

Thanks for the pics... I'm not even exactly sure how the indentations interfere but I think the studs on the spacers is what's supposed to be bad, not necessarily the part that bolts on to the hub?

Unsure of what size spacers on this car, also if this is a BRZ Aozora then I believe the wheels are 7" wide where as the Jap STI ones are 7.5"

Didn't even know Aozora=series blue for Canada.

Cool!

I still need to know if 20mm spacers will fit though :(

Apparently I didn't search enough... Thanks to iLaw for pointing me in the right direction

For future reference,

20mm spacers that work are H&R confirmed by @iLaw and B2Design's spacers confirmed by Charles from B2Design

I believe H&R come with extended studs, and they fit.

If you want hub centric go with B2AutoDesign or Perrin spacers.

If you are going to lower the car, I recommend doing 25/30 instead since 20/25 tucked too much for me after lowering (flush on stock height though)

couldn't say about 0.8 inches. I was 1.5 inches lowered I think and it tucked a lot. What's your camber? I'm at -2 front -3 rear

Not sure what is my camber now. Im getting an alignment this friday because i got the rce yellow springs installed 3 weeks ago.

After seeing your pics in your build thread, im undecided between 20mm all around or 25mm all around :S

I doubt your camber will be as much as mine with springs at 0.8 inches. Do you plan on going coils and do you care if it pokes a little?

I'd still say 25 front and 30 rear or 25mm all around for lowered series blues

irax 04-13-2016 03:41 PM

I ran 38mm all around, if you are low this is the best fit.
