Bilstein P14 vs ST Coils

I am currently looking into some coilovers for some spirited mountain driving and a lot of autocross days. In my price range I came up with these 2 options and while I have read good things about them I can't find out what the autoxers and etc feel about these 2 sets of coils.

So basically I'm just looking for a little help on deciding for my coilovers that won't break the bank.

You really can't go wrong with either of those options.

I went with ST myself and I am very satisfied with them!

I will be going with the Bilstein's for myself as I DD 99.5% of the time. Iwould imagine that the linear spring rate will be better for you if you plan toauto-x much. Just my 2 cents. If you do go with the Bilstein's let me know whatyou think of them.

if you want actual autocross answers go to the race section of this forum and ask around the STX thread what coilovers people are using there. Straight from the horses mouth.

I did, been waiting 2 days on an answer
Maybe I'll get one eventually but I am buying the coils this week and was trying to get better reviews than they feel good and etc

You try any local groups?? Im sure there is a local facebook group you could ask to ride in some cars and get somewhat of a feel for yourself?

Not yet bought the car about 4 days ago, haven't really met anyone so far
But that is a good idea

Welcome then!! If you just bought the car why not enjoy it the way it is for a little while while you save some more money? If you are going to lower it and want to be competitive you will need lower control arms as well as camber bolts (or top hats) if you want to get your camber back to OEM spec or set it to your liking. The OEM set up it really good.

He speaks the truth. Stiffer is not necesarily faster when it comes to springs. As for shocks, admittedly the OEM ones are not confidence inspiring but the harder you lean on them the better they get.

Of course, if you want ride quality, OEM is crap.

Seeing as you are in SF corrosion shouldn't be a big issue.

Personally I like the P14s for a DD/Track/Street car.

There are quite a few shops with the capability of rebuilding the Bilsteins, changing valving, etc.

Tofurky 07-27-2015 10:04 PM

Well I just got a good deal on some used STs so they will be here next week
I'll see how I like them
If I don't I will buy bilsteins for sure
