Maintenance and Warranty
Do I have to have a dealer do the maintenance to maintain my warranty?
|
Check the warranty booklet that should be in the glovebox there should be a clause that specifically states that performing your own maintenance will not cause issues with warranty claims as long as you use the appropriate parts and do not cause any problems yourself.
|
You may wish to maintain a log that notes date, mileage, what fluids and parts (filters) were used.

I am currently getting a new short block due to spun bearing, I presented them with my oil receipts as I order everything online, that was sufficient for Subaru to warranty it. it helps if you have the dealer do it, as they would have all the records. but, i am not driving 40 min away to get my oil changed...
