Seems alot like the Japanese version of Fortune Auto (maybe slightly better quality). Decent tech and a local team of people who are happy to rebuild or do custom work for a modest price. For the price, I'd still rather have Ohlins... but this is JDM yo!

There are 2 options for the 86 (pillowball and rubber mounts). Both come equipped with 7 (F) / 5 (R) kg/mm springs and ~1" drop. Cost is $2,500 in Japan. With shipping, you're in the price range of some very high quality coilovers.

when buying decent coilovers you always have to be thinking of support down the line

if your Japanese leak or need a scheduled rebuild, you're gonna pay a pretty penny shipping them to Japan and back, plus process time.

Aragosta is great... in Japan. That's all you need to know about them.

For that price I'd be all over the RCE Tarmac 2s.

Hi Guys,

A little late to the party here, but we actually work directly with Aragosta and use their systems on a number of our demo cars and recommend them for use on customer cars.

Aragosta coilovers are actually manufactured by AST who makes high-end race dampers including Moton which is used on a number of FIA GT, and Touring cars.

In answer to your statement, if you did require a rebuild the Aragosta coilovers could be rebuilt by AST Suspension who are located over here in California.

I thought they were actually made by Aragosta in Japan, but with AST parts/internals?

Either way, AST will rebuild them. They are one of the decent MR2 setups out there.
