KONI yellow install issue HELP PLEASE
For those of you that installed your KONIs, what size drill bit did you use on the rear top hats? The instructions say to use a 12 mm drill bit but they don't sell metric drill bits anywhere near me. Would a 15/32 be too small. Or maybe use a 1/2 bit
|
15/32 is about 0.1mm too small, but I'm not sure how tight the fit is.
|
12 mm = 0.476 inches
15/32 inches = 0.46875 inches 31/64 inches would be the closest that isn't too small. |
doeant have to be perfect.
|
I used a 1/2 drill on mine... no issues so far and I track my car hard.
|
@Cartman, how did u tighten the top nut? I can't torque it down without the shaft spinning.

How'd u get vice grips on the shaft when the dust boot is in the way?
|
I ran with no boots on the koni setup on a previous car.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39028 there is that option also. No real torque rating unless you find a pass through torque wrench. |
@swarb how long did u have your konis with no dust boots. I may have to go that route but I don't know if running no dust boots will affect the lifespan of my konis
