Are you looking for an off the shelf type of tune or a dyno tune? Off the shelf can be done over the email and installed into the tablet. I got an ecutek and had bill from delicious tune me a flash n go base on my mods and email It to me. When I had an OFT I just downloaded the file appropriate to my mods.

Delicious Tuning.

I already have a OFT off the shelf tune ala e85 stage 2 and go to 91 stage 2 when I can't find e85. I would prefer to stick with OFT if possible because I already have it and the data logging and readouts are good(cheap) for my setup.

I am mainly looking for a tuner that works with OFT so I can do a baseline and in the future(when I actually need the tune) try to stay on the same dyno so I have semi-comparable results to look at.

Did you ever find any tuners for oft in the so cal area?

swarb 09-02-2015 12:30 AM

Nope. You just need someone who works with rom raider and be able to load the files, or load them yourself.

Probably need to directly call the tuner and ask them. Delicious and Church seem to be the go to guys in so-cal.

Maybe @Shiv@Openflash can give some suggestions.

Have you considered an OpenFlashPerformance remote tune (e-tune)? Costs $195.

Very few tuners will use oft.

Just buy a license for ecutek. Just borrow someone's cable (i have one)

Many benefits to using ecutek. Primarily Speed Density Tuning.

Evasive is great but they have a huge back log of work so expect a long wait. Church is great too and cheaper than Evasive at around $650 for custom ecutek tune. not sure about their lead time though. Delicious is great but obviously not in LA area and if i remember correctly their custom tunes are a little north of $800. Lastly, if you have any plans to head up north any time soon, you can pass by Fairfield and have Ed Susman at Equilibrium Tuning do a custom tune but expect pricing similar to Evasive which is around $900-$1000.

Not saying OFT is bad. It's no slouch. Shiv does an amazing job with OTS tunes and now that they've added Flat Foot Shifting amongst other features it's something to consider especially when you will receive updates for free.

With that said, I still recommend ecutek and a custom tune (or delicious flash and go $375). Why? Because even though custom tunes can be pricey ($500-1000), it's tailored to your car which makes a world of difference. Right now I'm currently on Delicious Flash and Go for ecutek. It's a great etune that has it's flaws but Bill/Zach are great and have a wealth of knowledge that they utilize to provide continuing improvements to Flash and Go. They do provide free updates to their Flash and Go but there are some caveats to it so if you're interested in that route then make sure to check their website for details. I've recently had a small gap in communication from them which was a bummer but besides that I can say that their customer service has been fantastic.

My big gripe is that most of these tuners are not open during the weekends which obviously makes things difficult for a lot of people.

If you end up going with ecutek then I was actually thinking about trying to get a group together of people that need custom tunes and see if maybe Church or even Delicious will give us a group discount that'll be worth while. Normally a custom tune will take around 2-3hrs per car.
