FT-86 Pricing Speculation?
 

I was wondering if Toyota would end up doing something along the lines of what Nissan/Infiniti & Hyundai does with the packaging of the FT-86 and I think I came up with a good idea!!


Toyota/Scion FRS-BASE(2.0 DI Boxer(200hp/170tq),6 speed manual,17x7F/17x7.5R with Bridgestone RE05A, TCS ,Ipod connectivity,CD player and all the other basics.
$20,999+$3,000 for 2.0T(265hp/260tq)

Toyota/Scion FRS-SPORT-includes all of BASE and adds Big Brake Kit,18x7.5F/18x8.5R,LSD,Sport Tuned Suspension.
$23,499+$3,000 for 2.0T(265hp/260tq)

Toyota/Scion FRS-PREMIUM-includes all of BASE and adds HID's,Leather seats,Sunroof,Premium Sound System,Proximity key,Navigation System, Bluetooth etc.
$24,499+$3,000 for 2.0T(265hp/260tq)

Toyota/Scion FRS-GRANDTOURING-includes all of BASE,SPORT,and PREMIUM.
$26,999+$3,000 for 2.0T(265hp/260tq)

Add $1,500 for a 6 speed DCT or $1,000 for a 6 speed Auto(which ever one they make)

I think this sounds like a great strategy for Toyota and I want to know what you guys think of it.

That pricing would be too good to be true. I see the base model pricing to be in the mid 20's, and the turbocharged one is probably gonna be in the low to mid 30's.

Sub-FT86, do you really want the car to come standard with Bridgestone RE05A tyres? From my experience they're rubbish.

Other than tyre choice, your pricing is probably $2-3k too low across the board unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong though.

Isn't Subaru uses Bridgestone and Toyota uses Yokohama?

Not sure, I'd rather have Yokohama's though. I believe Lexus vehicles come with Bridgestone tires.

Those prices look good for me. I almost have faith that the Subaru version may be slightly cheaper..considering the prices for the WRX and STI..

Are you sure about that? I haven't seen any Toyota/Lexus car that didn't come with Yokohama as stock tires. Same goes with Subaru, most of high end Subaru cars always had Bridgestone

I think Lexus have either Bridgestone or Toyo. I'm not so sure. I changed the tires 2 years ago.

That pricing would be dream! But, i think here in Germany we have to pay 30-40% more as always :(
The GT sound very interessting for me...

This is just me speculating and I hope that I am 95% correct. The reason I used the Bridgestone's is because it seems like it's a very popular tire on a lot of sporty makes here in the U.S.

I wish your full set of combinations would be implemented but I am doubtful - automakers typically only make their more powerful engines available at pricier trim levels. There will likely never be a turbo available at the two lower equipment levels you describe here.

I just hope it'll have LSD as a standalone option, if not standard. I hope it's not a Hyundai Genesis Coupe type situation where only the top-spec models get LSD. Seriously Toyota, I'd pay $1,000 just for LSD.

there is always a way to add that kind of options by hand, when I looked for a Genesis coupe, I looked for the BASE model and made arrangements with the service director to get the rear differential assembly for 1700 canadian$ we only need to build the options
