Maserati - our higher priced lookalikes?
Has anyone else noticed how similar our cars look to the Maserati Gran Turismo from the side profile?
http://media.caranddriver.com/images...s-original.jpg To add to the feeling, I followed a Ghibli today, and the tail (the lights, the shape of the trunk, and particularly the shape of the license plate area) are strikingly similar to our rear ends. http://srv2.betterparts.org/images/m...-ghibli-05.jpg |
I hate to be the thread hater, but discussed many times before! I agree, but think we're more the cheap version of it.

Yes they do look almost identical. But I prefer the 86 styling more due to its more compact size and more lower slung roof line.

...and price tag, but I'm being redundant. There's a guy that owns one up here in Vancouver/Portland. Total asshat driver.

I have said that the 86 engineer had a Grand Turismo poster on one side of his office and a Cayman on the other.

I've had a cop pull me over and say I thought this was a Maserati.

My dads boss recently bought a brand new quattroporte and hates it. She can't leave it parked for more then two days or the battery dies. Then she took it in to the dealer because she was having problems with something. They gave her a dodge as a loaner....

This thread is pretty silly. so rwd 2+2 coupes have similar roof, hood and rear lines, shocking!!! It's almost like there's legal, engineering, and aero reasons to make them all similar.
It's like saying airbus a380 - high priced 737 lookalike? http://www.aircraftpaintschemes.com/...7-800_t_th.jpg http://www.ceco.net/zDepot/drawing-p...cks-51.dwg.png Then saying, no, i think it looks more like a 757 https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...FAMILYv1.1.png no, it really looks more like a a330! http://www.aero-news.net/images/cont...View-0308a.jpg |
