Ugh, curbed the nose a little...
 

I'm so used to driving a truck where you can easily pull in tight to the parking spots with the front wheels against the parking curb/block. Every time I park the FR-S, I feel like I'm parking 5 feet further back than I should be. This morning on the way to work I was just about to put it in park and then BUMP goes the nose! The bad news is of course that I curbed the nose, but the good news is that it's the small lip under the nose (a few inches back). It's minor with a few small nicks and nobody will ever see it, but it's a REMINDER that I need to remain careful about pulling into parking spots. Better 2 feet back than 1 inch too close I say! I'm just glad it's the bottom and not the front 'points' that hit...

Arrgh. Always scared that this will happen to me... With my old Saab i took the habit to park in reverse after i scratched the front lip couple time....

Same happened with my old jetta 2002. think i'll start parking in reverse too...

I know that, but any ding is still a ding and I'd prefer not to have any. But, such is life and sooner or later you get them. The only way to avoid them it not drive the car and what fun is that? lol

I feel your pain. Did the same thing with my wife's Benz. It was one week old. In my defense, I was used to driving her torrent. Actually, I am still feeling yor pain as she reminds me of it constantly.

I said this in a similar thread, but I've always tried to make a practice of "centering" my car in a parking spot, assuming its not longer than the typical spot. If you do that with the FRS you will leave a couple of feet on both ends of the car.

Issue resolved.

Try driving a lowered car if you think watching curbs is hard.

Don't be lazy and reverse in, so you won't have that problem lol.

Actually, we are not allowed to park this way at work. I guess it makes life too difficult for the guys who check the permits hanging from the rear view mirror. :paddle:

It's been raining for almost 3 weeks now and it's been impossible to keep the car clean. More rain today! :(

That stinks that you have to go front first, oh well you can always wrap your front with bumper guard. :D

As for the wheather its been stupid hot here. Wish it would rain. 33 celcius feels like 40+ with the humidity.

We're lucky if we hit 25 during the day, although last week I think it did get to 28. If it's been above 30 this year, it has been rare! It's almost 2pm and only 18c!

My FR-S is at the dealership until tomorrow so I'm driving a loaner Scion Xb. This has to be the easiest vehicle to get in and out of that I've ever driven. The seats are quite comfy, visibility is good and the 5spd manual feels smooth. It feels so high compared to the FR-S, almost like I'm back driving a truck... lol

I park backside first since it's required by my workplace for safety reason. :)
