Parking/Emergency Brake - "Clunk"

Hey all - so far, I am pleased with the e-brake and how it works. Seems to be located in a nice spot for use to initiate drifts etc. as a Parking brake, it works well.

Question - when i attempt to put on the e-brake while driving, there is a sudden clunk (feels like a magnetic actuator or something) when i pull the handle. This happens before it get's into any sort of braking range... i can hear it coming from the rear... any idea what this is? It doesn't make the sound when i'm parked and use it - only when driving.

its because its a drum emergency brake and its the pads seating forward or reverse depending on the incline your car is sitting on and direction. drum ebrakes are shit and its why all those nissan drifters upgrage to hydraulic.
