What mod is worth it?

So I am getting ready to get Tomei EL header and perrin 2.5 exhaust. Now I am debating if I sould get the Perrin over pipe + Invidia front pipe catted or if I should get a Grimmspeed intake with the perrin exhaust and Tomei El header. I will be ding the install all the same day.

Do you think the Front and over pipe worth it over the intake?

My ultimate plan is in January or February I will be going supercharger JR.

Thanks,

Why get an intake when you're going to get a supercharger? That's a waste of money

intake is a waste on our cars and the JRSC has its own intake. you'll be much better off with getting a OP/FP

Evil Rocky 07-10-2015 03:53 PM

Think of doing intake just because get more fun driving while I wait for supercharger....

Evil Rocky 07-10-2015 03:54 PM

I guess you guys answered my questions. Will go with the OP and FP

I don't think you'll get much power out of really anything you listed. Save your money for the supercharger, or maybe some niceties, like weathertech floor matts.

I know, I sound way lame.

Forget the OP/FP, and intake. Save the money, and then use it to get a custom tune, or E85 flex kit.

Evil Rocky 07-10-2015 04:27 PM

I did not really want to go with a tune due to the fact supercharger going in and tune will be lost. reason was trying to get small functional things to get a little more power from the car

Driver mod, spend the money on track days or autocross

quality header and tune. (quality means nameless, ptuning, ace, jdl, tomei)

Thanks,

No, the intake, FP, and OP are all not worth it. You might add 3-7 WHP with all of them combined.

Get an OpenFlashTablet (OFT) for $500. I'tll give you a tune for your header, will kill the CEL you'd get without it, and also you'll be able to run e85 for free (from e50-e95). This will put you well over 210ish WHP and 175ish WTQ. Then when you get your JR supercharger, sell your OFT for $400. That's $100 bucks net to get 50-60WHP / 40ish WTQ and all the kick ass other features that come with an OFT like data logging, digital gauges, alarms, G-Meter, and lots more. This is the way to go.

I'd like to see a dyno like that. I'm full exhaust with E85 on OFT and dynoed at 204/162.

you do know what "ish" means right?. The numbers you dyno'd are close enough to correlate performance. You probably got next to no extra whp from your OP and catback. Only a catless FP will add any WHP above a catless header, that's pretty well documented on tho board.
