New Audio system going in

Just picked up my Raven FRS and I agree the head unit and speakers need to be replaced. I will be putting in the new Kenwood Excelon DNX9990HD and the Focal 165 VR3 component speakers.I am having a fiberglass custom box built on the passenger’s side trunk to take up as least space as possible. I will be using the JL Audio W3 10 sub and an Alpine PDX-V9 amp to run the whole system. This will be installed Thursday and Friday of this week. I think it should turn out well for my first mods of many!!!!!! If any one cares I will post pics later this week.

Niceeeeee. Let me know what kind of price you get on the head unit. I reallly like that one

I care:)
Getting the same unit this week and all needed adapters,
Just want to find out if I can use the OEM microphone by the rear view mirror to hook up to the new unit.
I can always mount the mic that comes with the unit in that spot, but it would save me some time and wiring to that location.
Maybe you or your installer can figure that one out?

I purchased the OEM audio plus system. Its getting installed tonite
I could of went the route and just pieced it all together but I wouldn't feel confident enough that it would sound as crisp as the OEM audio plus one does. I've been in plenty of cars with systems and they most of the time seem to unbalanced. Too much highs not enough lows or the exact opposite. But most just sound stupid loud. Don't get me wrong I like to crank up my jams but I like everything to be crisp and clear. Plus the fact the whole systems plug n play really makes it ideal for easy removal and reinstallation

GodSays that looks like a great system your putting in. I own an Audio/Video company in the Dallas area so I get decent deals on electronics. I think it will be a very clean look
and should be easy to tweak the sound just how I like it. I have that same HU in my jeep
and its by far the fastest with hardly any lag time. It also looks the part. Garmin Nav is so easy to use and the maps are great.

Exactlyyyyy. Some headunits are very laggy and in my opinion kills the whole experience. Pioneers were laggy and the GPS was not up to snuff compared to the Garmin GPS in the kenwood

Glad were on the same page. Maybe ill buy my head unit from you lol

We do commercial and residential but our vendors rep allot of car audio. I agree on the pioneer as far as being really slow. Also last year model Kenwoods were really slow but
they improved the processor and went back to hard buttons on the volume.

I'm hoping someone makes a replacement panel to go around the double din head units... that extra space would make my OCD go off the charts.
