Invidia N1 catback or Invidia Q300 catback??

Sorry to bring this topic up but Im like finger on the trigger with these 2 exhaust and just want to go ahead and pick one. Ive watched videos but they just don't do the sound justice. I want something with Deep sound with little to no drone noise. Its my DD so the last thing I want is an annoying tin can ricer noise so cops will stare at me. I know the Q300 is quieter than the N1 but I also hear that it sounds similar to stock. I don't see the point in getting it if it sounds stock. The N1 on the other hand seems like it would be a little too loud for DD. People who have either of the 2 please chime in. Would love to hear which one you guys prefer. Im leaning more towards the Q300 but is it really as quiet as everyone says? Thanks guys. :thanks:

Just put a N1 on this morning, the rest of the exhaust is stock. Its not too loud now but i feel like i will have to replace it when i get a header. I would stick with a catted or at the very least a resonated front pipe also.

I honestly just plan on doing a cutback exhaust and a CAI. Im not gonna go all out with the headers and etc. Is the N1 loud when your just cruising? and hows it sound idle?

I'd leave the catback stock and go for header, filter, and tune. When I had the N1, it was drone city. It's ok if you stay under like 55~60 mph. With header it just becomes ridiculous. At idle it was sweet though.

I had an N1 and switched it for the Q300.

The N1 drones at 60 mph, unless I had the silencers on it. but that made them look horrible.

My 2nd reason to change was that the N1 would set off the alarms of other cars in underground parking of my apt building on the 1st cold start of the day, without the silencers more than half the cars, with the silencer just 2 or 3. Sometimes the alarms would go off when I get home.

I've since changed to the Q300, no alarms go off when I start the car. I even have an overpipe, catted frontpipe, and it's almost stock quiet at idle.

I still miss my N1 during trackdays, but I'd rather have the Q300 on the car for regular driving.

Does the q300 sound better than stock at all during regular driving? I at least want a lil bit of growl to it lol

I went from N1 to Q300 with catted frontpipe and overpipe. I have a nice growl starting at 2500, and I think its enough for me. (some of my friends really like their N1 growl than mine).

A friend of mine had just the Q300, but I can't remember how it sounded. I think it was a bit throatier than the stock one, and a bit louder. But I can't remember for sure.

You should try to look up a club in your area and ask if someone has the Q300 so you can hear it with your own ears. The biggest problem I see online is that it's hard to judge what you'll get just by the videos because the mic was closer in one brands video than in the other brand.

Stuff like that tends to happen and it can throw off your perception.

The Q300 really is a good exhaust for someone looking to do headers, front/over pipe as well but also want to keep the noise at a manageable level. With that said, it won't be too much louder than stock with no other supporting exhaust mods but you will hear it when you open it up nonetheless. If you are just looking to do an exhaust perhaps you may look at other options as well? Look at the Corsa exhaust for example, it sounds amazing.

I had the Q300 and it was too quiet for me and I'm an old man. I now have the Corsa and it is perfect. Great sound when you want it and a mild rumble on the highway and no drone, perfect cat-back.

I was gonna do the q300 with the indivia front pipe as well. Would that help with sound as well? I saw the corsa a lil bit out of my price range, saw it for like 900. Do you know if they make the burnt tips for corsa?

Front pipe would help, carless or vatted? Res or no? The corsa comes with regular tips and black tips only I believe.

no drone = no N1. I have the headers with N1 and absolutely love it, however, I only work 4 miles from work and don't have to worry about highway driving often. If I really need a car for long trip, I have the fiancé's corolla. sounds like you definitely don't need N1. However, you may want to look into a perrin 2.5 inch resonated. I know you said you had it narrowed down but the q300 is pretty darn quiet and it sounds like you want at least some rumble. just my .02 cents

Not really sure what the difference is between cat and catless or res or non res. I know the catted front pipe costs more tho. Sorry im a noob to this:drool:
